Microsoft Corporation Revenue Recognition Finance Manager in Dublin, Ireland

The Microsoft Corporate Accounting Revenue Recognition team is responsible for the reporting accuracy of billions of dollars of revenue across the world for both US GAAP and local statutory reporting. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer agreements, including amendments to those agreements, document the proper technical revenue conclusions, and prepare revenue adjustments in accordance with ASC 606 MSFT revenue policies, and customer/field intent.

  • Develop and maintain depth and breadth of knowledge over MS products, services and policies.

  • Engage with deal desk for upfront consultation on deals to influence deal construct and drive compliance within MS empowerment guidance.

  • Support key systems transformation projects by ensuring solutions for complex accounting issues are included in the design.

  • Contribute to process-improvement efforts by collecting and reviewing business partner and team feedback and incorporating industry best practices.

  • Assist with internal and external audit queries on revenue recognition, for both US GAAP and Local GAAP

  • Identify and assess financial statement risk to provide input on initiatives to enhance control compliance with US and Local GAAP and SOX.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

-Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience

OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 1+ year(s) accounting or finance experience

-Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.

  • Communication skills to influence business partners and deliver complex messages with clarity

-Critical thinking, comfortable dealing with complexity and ambiguity with tenacity to find answers and reach conclusions and operational excellence.

-Highly experienced in planning and organising with ability to work under tight deadlines.

-Ability to effectively interact and communicate across a broad spectrum of audiences.

-Highly experienced with complex systems, processes, and programs.

-Ability to work both independently and as a team player.

-Highly experienced in Microsoft Office application skills, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.

-Experience in the technology or software industry.

  • ASC 606 experience/ practical application

-Project Management experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 4+ years of accounting or finance experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience.
