Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center provides unique insight on threat to protect Microsoft and our customers. We are looking for a strong engineering manager to lead a team of security-focussed engineers on building systems that improve the productivity of our threat intelligence analysts and automate the generation of insights at cloud scale.

These insights protect Microsoft customers from threats ranging from nation-state attacks to human-operated ransomware to threats that are less technically sophisticated but are high-impact due to their sheer volume and indiscriminate targeting of our cloud customers. You are a seasoned engineering leader in the cyber security domain.

You care deeply about the customer experience, and that drives how you prioritize the technical work of the team. You are results-driven, with a focus on delivering value to start protecting customers early, and an iterative approach for incremental improvements thereafter. You enjoy finding creative ways to leverage new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of security-focussed engineers who make our analysts more productive through engineering.

  • Accelerate our analysts insights by building innovative analysis tooling run at cloud scale.

  • Work with Threat Intelligence Analysts to maintain and improve their automated workflows.

  • Work with other internal and external teams to forge new and improve existing partnerships that advance defenders’ understanding of key threats.

Qualifications

  • Batchelors degree in Computer Science or other quantitative field

  • Extensve experience in a software engineering role building cloud based systems

  • Good experience leading an engineering team.

  • Proven ability to relate technical research advances and insights to business impact

  • Understanding of attacker techniques and tracking the threat actors behind specific campaigns

  • Engineering experience in the cyber security domain

  • Experience in the analysis of cloud scale datasets

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
