IBM Data and ML Engineer in Dublin, Ireland
At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, lets talk.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Are you a Software Engineer who wants to use cutting-edge Data, ML, and AI technologies and techniques to produce innovative products with real-world impact in the Healthcare sector ? If so, please read on.
Watson Health is spinning out from IBM into a new independent company, and as part of this, we are expanding our team in Dublin. We are making a major investment in building a new green-field leading-edge ML and Data Platform to produce, serve, and operate innovative Health Care ML and Analytics models. The new platform is based on the Azure cloud platform, and will leverage AzureML and a number of open source technologies including Kubeflow, MLflow, Ray, and Spark.
We work in a fast-moving area, with a wide range of technologies, so we very much support a learning environment and culture. We look for people who enjoy learning about and sharing new technologies and techniques, and their application to real-world challenges in the Healthcare sector.
We are a multidisciplinary team of data engineers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, designers, and business analysts. We work with a range of AI and Machine Learning approaches from Forecasting and Predictive Analytics to Natural Language Processing (NLP), using technologies like scikit-learn, PyTorch, PySpark, Pandas, and spaCy. Our backend technology stack includes Python, Java, Kubernetes, and a variety of storage technologies (Object Storage, RDBMS, Document, Graph). We work with real-time, streaming, and batch modes using Ray, Spark, and Kafka. The CI/CD tool chain that we use includes GitHub, GitHub Actions, Gradle, Helm, Azure Pipelines, Argo, and Artifactory.
We are looking for creative, energetic Software Engineers who have experience working in the Python ecosystem, and who enjoy working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team using agile approaches to work in Data Engineering or ML Engineering roles. In particular, we are looking for engineers who have developed and deployed cloud-based data pipelines and microservices with some of the backend technologies in our stack, and/or who have developed and productionised models with some of the ML and Analytics technologies that we use. Experience working in the Health Informatics sector is a plus.
Our current work environment is a hybrid model. We work remotely, meeting in the Dublin office as needed, but desks are also available on a more frequent basis for those who prefer to work in an office environment more regularly.
If this sounds like you, and you would like to find out more, please send us your resume - we look forward to hearing from you.
