Role Summary:

As a Safe Permit workflow controller you will collaborate with colleagues and vendor partners to support smooth operations of Google’s Safe Permit System.

You’ll provide workflow support to all departments using contractors, supply partners, and vendors. Specifically you’ll be responsible for assuring applications for access, or to do work, meet legal and company safe system recommendations.

The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive and will show initiative to keep the facilities safe and maintain a smooth flow of all general & high risk activities within the client buildings.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Review of all permit applications

  • Participate in creating and enhancing our safety culture

  • Maintain accurate records

  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors

  • Deal with enquiries regarding control of work and space

  • Deliver training to suppliers and contractors

  • Monitor compliance

  • Prepare reports

  • Participate in audits

  • Assist in any other site requests or EHS work with regards to Google Safe at work processes

Undertake all other duties & tasks as reasonably requested by your line manager

You will be an expert in the requirements of safely controlling work and space, and you will be able to explain the requirements of this to others. You will be organised and follow up withusersusesof your service to ensure it is effective and delivers customer satisfaction. You will be confident that anyone receiving a permit to work or take control of a space has followed a reasonable and systematic safe system.

Education

  • Health and Safety qualification, Nebosh / IOSH / other

  • Risk assessment/Method statement understanding

  • First aid qualification

  • Management of Risk qualification

Skills

  • Language -fluency in written and spoken English

  • Computer literate

  • The ability to work well both as part of a team and on your own

  • Language - business fluency in German, French, Spanish, or Hebrew would be a bonus.

  • Technical drawing skills

Knowledge

  • Broad technical knowledge of facilities management and building systems

  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and construction techniques

Experience

  • Responsive to customer requests in an empathic, supportive and productive manner

  • Experience of working across national borders.

  • 5+ years experience in a similar building environment
