About This Role

This position will provide you with the unique opportunity to work within a risk management department with enterprise-wide responsibility of a company with a dynamic, global risk profile. As a member of the risk management team, this role will work with multiple Corporate and business functions to support Carrier's global international insurance needs, be highly involved and in certain cases leading risk management business partners, insurance brokers, insurers, and third-party administrators to ensure high quality global risk management services and solutions that deliver extraordinary customer service and the best outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage placement and service delivery of assigned global insurance programs.

  • Support non-US entities to ensure compliance with local insurance requirements and regulations.

  • Provide direction to business units on insured and non-insured liability and property risk exposures.

  • Support development of loss control and mitigation programs for assigned insurance programs to reduce the likelihood and severity of exposures to loss.

  • Communicate to the Accounting, FP&A and Controller functions- risk financing mechanisms and related costs including premium costs, broker fees, TPA costs, global allocation models principally to non-US entities.

  • Supervise and lead “International’ team of two direct reports on the delivery of extraordinary customer service and outcomes as it relates to key Carrier Risk Management processes:

  • Asset Protection

  • Claims Management

  • Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestitures

  • Contract Reviews

  • Risk Financing

  • Cost Forecasting

  • Manage brokers, insurers, and TPA’s for assigned insurance programs to assure continuity of the programs and quality of risk management services provided to the Business.

  • Provide periodic updates on material Risk Management issues to Senior Director of Risk Management and other Finance Senior leadership.

  • Manage other duties as well as lead or support special projects as assigned by Carrier's Senior Director of Risk Management, to continually deliver a best-in-class, high-quality, leading global Risk Management program for Carrier.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10 + years of corporate risk management and/or insurance industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Insurance broker experience preferred

  • Experience with large, complex insurance programs (e.g., fronted programs, alternative risk programs, captive, structured insurance) and multinational insurance programs preferred

  • RMIS system experience preferred (e.g., Origami, Riskonnect, Ventiv/RiskConsole, etc.)

  • Industry designation(s) a plus (e.g. Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Risk Management, Associate in Claims, etc.)

  • Process and detail-oriented

  • Highly organized

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to demonstrate thought leadership

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Ability and desire to design and implement process improvements

  • Extraordinary attitude and work ethic
