FieldCore, part of GE Vernova is looking for an experienced machinist to join our Middle East and African Field Services Team as a Machinist Supervisor in Dubai .

As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.

As the Machinist Supervisor will have overall responsibility for ensuring that all machinery is both set up correctly and operated in line with the agreed method statements and is suitable for the scope of work to be carried out.

You will oversee the safe replacement of all machine components, as and when required and quickly address and resolve mechanical operating issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Machinist Supervisor has the responsibility to lead teams of machinists on site both from a technical and leadership point of view whenever required as per the job. You will achieve this by:

  • Lead ST Bladers and Machinists on on-site machining and ST blading activities.

  • Liaison with Engineering on findings and reports.

  • Operate Faro Laser Tracker and interpret its readings to conduct gas turbine casing alignments.

  • Operate Faro Laser Tracker and interpret its readings to conduct Top On Top Off Steam turbine casing alignments.

  • Experience on conducting GE turbine casing machining using Climax boring bar.

  • Perform and Lead turbine Coupling honing, Bore Plug repair.

  • Perform and Lead turbine blade tip grinding for GE & Alstom Units.

  • Perform maintenance of clean work areas, tooling and equipment.

  • Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipment.

  • Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.

  • Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.

  • Deliver expectations on EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety), Quality, On-Time Delivery, Productivity and Cost Reduction.

Special Role Requirements:

  • Able to travel extensively both domestically and internationally to and from projects and various field assignments.

  • Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.

  • Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

You will be an accomplished people leader having led multiskilled and multiculturally diverse teams within the power generation industry. Furthermore, you will:

  • Have a high degree of expertise with machining and repair of power generation Turbine equipment

  • Be competent in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Hold a Valid Passport and Driver License

  • Understand and communicate effectively in English

  • Be able to interpret drawings and specifications in standard and metric dimensions
