Aerotek CNC Maintenance Technician in Downers Grove, Illinois

Description:

This position will perform duties may include preventative maintenance (PMs), pipe fitting, welding, light machining, electrical or mechanical repairs or equipment, installing, aligning, assembly of new equipment and repairs to the facility such as lighting, plumbing etc. Work will be performed in all departments of the facility, including turning, grinding heat treat, plating, assembly and support equipment throughout the plant. This position is required to follow the proper safety procedures as well as strictly adhere to all documented procedures around the processing of parts. This Position is also responsible for contributing to the improvement of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and 5S in all production areas.

Job Functions

  • Make modifications to controls and accurately document print changes to reflect the changes made. This includes diagnosing the problem in a timely manner, efficiently making the repair, utilizing machine diagnostics, disassembling the components, requisitioning new parts and equipment, repairing or replacing broken parts, adjusting functional parts as necessary, cleaning and lubricating, and inspecting repair when completed.

  • Assemble, install and or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, and installation of new equipment to power sources.

  • Align and balance new equipment after installation

  • Troubleshoots and repairs facility equipment and production machines across all areas and departments of this facility and works with associates at all levels to support manufacturing.

  • May apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate or repair parts of metal or other weld able materials, as specified by work orders, blueprints, sketches or charts.

  • Maintain inventory for repair parts, assemble lists for parts that need to be ordered for repair and look up and call suppliers to get availability and cost of parts.

  • Record equipment repairs, both PM’s and corrective reports and utilize our CMMS.

Job Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years or more of experience as an industrial Maintenance Technician

  • CNC Maintenance is preferred

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment
