Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking Senior Engineering Support professional to join our team! This position will be responsible for identifying and solving problems related to the reliability of systems and equipment. This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal.

What will you be doing?

This position will be a key member of the PEO GCS team. Duties include:

  • Provide Reliability Availability and Maintainability (RAM) expertise to review Test Incident Reports (TIR) and provide scoring recommendations along with sufficient rationale to defend that position in a scoring conference.

  • Track progress of test site incident reports through utilization of the Vision Digital Library System (VDLS) and the Total Enterprise Asset Management System (TEAMS),

  • Develop reliability strategies and courses of action to support presentations leading up to major program decisions (e.g. Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) Configuration Steering Board (CSB), and Full Materiel Release (FMR), Production Decision); to include organization of supporting data and development of presentation materiel and presentation talking points.

  • Provide RAM expertise to advise newly appointed PM MAV RAM branch chief and assist in training of new RAM engineer team members.

  • Participate in availability modeling process and provide recommendations for data inputs and model assumptions.

  • Government guidelines as specified within the contract.

  • May perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor. May be required to travel (20% Max)

    What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

  • Analytical thinking: the ability to think critically and logically, as well as the ability to work with large sets of data and make sense of them.

  • Technical aptitude: a strong understanding of the systems, equipment, and processes at hand. This includes knowledge of the engineering principles and specific systems used at an organization.

  • Problem-solving: the ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to complex problems.

  • Communication: the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

  • Project management: the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively including planning, scheduling, and organizing.

  • Data management skills with the ability to use statistical analysis tools as well as the ability to interpret and communicate the results of the analysis.

  • A continuous improvement mindset for identifying and implementing ways to continuously improve reliability.

  • Extensive experience interpreting failure definitions and scoring criteria (FDSC) and scoring test incidents for ground combat vehicles.

  • Minimum 25 years’ experience with Army ground combat systems– previous gov’t practice required

  • Must be US Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
