Doral, FL

SMX is seeking a Senior Operations Lead to provide subject matter expertise for C4ISR operations and act as the liaison between operations, maintenance, and logistics personnel. As a Senior Operations Lead you will provide oversight on C4ISR projects and coordinate with Government personnel to ensure USSOUTHCOM C4ISR mission objectives are met from an operational perspective. The Senior Operations Lead will ensure the release and acceptance of all information as it complies with the appropriate security controls and protections based on classification, technological progress, or other considerations. This position is onsite at USSOUTHCOM in Doral, FL with travel to other CONUS and OCONUS locations.

This position required a DoD TS/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads and directs team activities

  • Executes and monitors project activities

  • Prepares and updates project plans and status reports

  • Coordinates cross-functional meetings of personnel related to project

  • Reports status, develops project-related documentation, and implements lessons learned

  • Participates in project performance review meetings and discussions

  • Updates and maintains production and quality metrics for projects

  • Conducts operational planning, execution and evaluation of a multi-faceted program that requires collaboration with customers to identify new project opportunities

  • Advises the Program Manager of any contractual issues that may result in Contracting Office action

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the Government program managers

  • Works cooperatively with the Program Manager in developing short- and long-range goals, objectives

  • Provides inputs to project schedules

  • Works with team to problem-solve and facilitates issues and situations

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Required Clearance: TS/SCI Eligible

  • Experience with the US Combatant Commands, preferably with ISR systems and projects, but other relevant support could be substituted

  • Experience and knowledge of government funding types and execution

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • Critical thinking skills and able to adapt quickly to changing environments

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Demonstrable success in government contracting (DoD preferred) through prior work experience in a customer-facing role

  • Budget management and execution experience with preference for understanding of the DOD budget process and MIPRs

  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques and ability to direct improvement initiatives.

  • Aptitude to work independently or in a group depending on the requirements with little or no oversight

  • Ability to multi-task simultaneously in support of various internal and external stakeholders

  • Minimum 5 years Program Management experience

  • A minimum of five years of experience operations management within major commands and the military intelligence community

  • A minimum of five years of experience working with ISR technologies, military operations, and the intelligence life cycle

  • A minimum of five years of experience managing operations and directing personnel under a contract that is similar in scope and complexity to the USSOUTHCOM MARLINS TO and ensuring compliance with regulations within DoD agencies

  • Experience building coalitions internally and with other Federal agencies or organizations within the intelligence community in order to achieve common goals

  • Experience working in Central and South America

  • PgMP, PMP or DAWIA Level III

  • Bachelor’s Degree
