Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in problem solving, and technical expertise, to ensure timely resolution of short-term process and equipment issues, and higher level troubleshooting.

  • Provides direction to other technicians / engineers, coaches junior engineers, and provides guidance to maintenance personnel.

  • Provides general engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge (understands theories and fundamentals), and capable of leading projects to get to root cause of issues, and put permanent solutions in place.

  • Provides disciplined project leadership across multiple stages of innovation for new product, process, cost reduction and capacity improvement initiatives.

  • Recommends and implements permanent solutions to long term performance issues and improves existing and new technologies and processes.

  • Develops and leads some areas of the manufacturing and/or technical roadmap. Documents material, process and/or equipment to protect and contribute to Intellectual Property improvements.

  • Proficient in use of statistical data analysis and DOE in process problem solving and process/product improvement.

  • Identifies, justifies, and implements cost reduction, capacity enhancement, capital equipment and other improvement initiatives.

  • Introduces new products and technologies.

  • Tracks the effectiveness of projects and implemented cost reductions, using up-time, cost, productivity, and other appropriate measures.

  • Provide project leadership for projects, relocations, modifications, alterations, or manufacturing processes.

  • Establish project plans (scope, schedule, cost estimates, project acceptance criteria, etc.) for assigned area of responsibility.

  • Establish sub-team working with Operating Division, plant and management. Leads sub team to needed results. Act as effective team member on larger, broader teams. Establish receivership requirements for project.

  • Other tasks supervisor assigned.

  • Ensure compliance to company EHS requirements within plant IT (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements).

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in technical field

  • Project leadership (scope to implementation)

  • Above 10 years relevant working experience in optical passive module, Cassette, Rack mount. Familiar with WDM、PLC、coupler.

  • Be familiar with GR-326, GR-1435, GR-1209, GR1221 reliability test standard.

  • Good commanding on Module/cassette design

  • Effective, high quality oral and written communication skills with English
