Job Overview:

The Instrumentation Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day activities working closely with the Subcontractors Instrumentation and Instrument Superintendent. He will be involved with reviewing a 4 week look ahead that includes planning of installation activities, staffing of department needs to support schedule, development of construction installation schedule working in Ras Laffan, Industrial City (RLIC).

Primary role working hand in hand with the Subcontractors Superintendents with oversight of the installation of instrument cable, Fiber Optics cable and normal power and control cable alongside a 32” pipeline and individual trenches from offshore to operating QE / QG facilities inside RLIC. Will be involved with the Instrumentation LOTO and PTW systems within RLIC.

Will work closely with Site planning / scheduling department, managing safety for all employees within their respective discipline. Participate in the JSA and generation of Method Statements along with and daily coordination of toolbox talks and the site safety department to ensure company safety requirements and culture are adhered to daily by all workers, ordering labor, equipment and tools to support scheduled installations.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Subcontractors Inst. Instr. /Superintendent / Supervisors to ensure completion of the work to schedule, quality and specifications

  • Carry out all activities safely to ensure all company personnel adhere to safety requirements and that a safe workplace is provided for all personnel

  • Coordinate arrangements between craft personnel and subcontractors to provide appropriate work site access to all other disciplines / parties

  • Ensure the allocation of construction work hours to relevant cost codes and prepare weekly construction progress reports to measure actual versus planned progress for all phases of the direct construction work

  • Ensure work completion in accordance with the latest revision of issued for construction (IFC) drawings, specification, Request for Information (RFI’s) and other project design information

  • Provide timely completion updates and update the Site Planning group with daily and weekly updates

  • Work closely with the Permit Coordinator and the Subcontractors Instrumentation Supt, and Supervisors to ensure the PTW process is managed and followed on a daily basis

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • 10+ years heavy industrial/construction Instrumentation offshore / onshore industrial experience to include raceway installation, cable/termination installation equipment setting and pre-commissioning of components

  • 5+ years as an Instrumentation Superintendent or Site Supervisor with 2 years work experience in Ras Laffan is a plus

  • PTW-1 Certification is a plus, QE / QG HSE training and H2S certification is required

  • Instrumentation Trade school or an Instrumentation / Instrument degree is required

  • Instrumentation/ telecom Certifications is a plus
