We are looking for an Area Director of Sales and Marketing to join our team.

As Area Director of Sales & Marketing , you

will be based at the InterContinental Doha Hotel where your main responsibility

is to lead the Sales and Marketing function and drive market share and growth.

Key responsibilities includes: develop and manage promotional strategies, sales

and marketing plans and existing accounts for the hotel; create and

implement programs to achieve greater profitability through increasing average

rate, overall occupancy and increased business volume during off-peak periods;

conduct Market Analysis; drive and develop new business for the hotel;

co-ordinate PR and Marketing opportunities; monitor team performance and

results; provide key interface with operations and other sales teams; prepare

annual departmental budgets and forecasts. Achievement will be measured on the

sales & marketing teams' new business targets and conversion levels, sales

calls, and revenue for the hotel along with minimum scores in hotel sales

audits. Also as the Director of Sales & Marketing you will be

responsible for managing and motivating your team. You will be required

to ensure that all staff within your department are adequately trained and

developed in line with company policy. You will also be responsible for

the Recruitment and Selection of your team and for managing any Employee

Relations issues with the support of the Human Resources Department. You

will actively guide and direct the whole team to ensure consistency of brand

standards and a high level of performance and service delivery.

Your area function is

to oversee the Commercial performance of other IHG Hotels in Northern Gulf

comprised of properties in Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, supporting the property Director of Sales &

Marketing. You will also be working

closely with each hotel’s General Manager to set commercial targets and ensure implementation

of IHG’s tools and ways of working.

Qualifications

Ideally, you will have at least 2 years of experience in an area role or

3 years of experience as Director of Sales & Marketing preferably in IHG Hotels with strong understanding on yield

management, key revenue metrics and a proven ability to exceed revenue / profit

targets. Bachelor's Degree in hospitality or related field.
