Job Posting Summary

Mercy University is seeking candidates for a Project Director to assist with the management of the Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) Grant to reduce sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking on campus program. The Project Director is a 3-year term, grant funded, non-exempt position reporting to the Executive Director of Health and Wellness. The OVW Project Director will be responsible for administering the OVW Grant to reduce sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking on campus. The Project Director will serve as point of contact for the OVW Grant from the Department of Justice and manage implementation of grant programs and activities, grant reports and assessments, OVW correspondences, and budget management. The Project Director will work closely with the designated technical assistance providers throughout the development and implementation phases of the grant and participate in a mandatory New Grantee Orientation, along with other training institutes provided by the grant. The Project Director will have responsibility for ensuring the development and implementation of statutory and other program requirements, as well as coordinating and managing all grant-related activities. They will have primary responsibility for building and/or strengthening collaborative relationships with the internal and external stakeholders supporting and advancing the project objectives through Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) and for directing timelines and tracking progress towards project completion.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Take directive from Project Supervisor and ensure grant activities and requirements are completed accurately and on time.

  • The Project Director must be able to interpret and apply program rules and regulations; deliver education and outreach; provide budget management; and demonstrate comprehension of prevention efforts and bystander programming.

  • Serve as the lead for the project implementation plan including tracking activities, progress, deadlines, and deliverables to inform and update the plan.

  • Provide a monthly status update report to the OVW grant team and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinate and hold quarterly Coordinated Community Response (CCR) Team meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Oversight of day-to-day grant activities including administration of electronic grant management system, development of detailed task lists, assistance with budget reconciliation, compilation of reports, and data collection and reporting.

  • Maintain communication with Mercy’s Office of Special Projects team and external stakeholders in a timely and effective manner. Travel to multiple campuses as assigned.

  • Tracking all culturally responsive sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and harassment education.

  • Designing and presenting customized programs and workshops for diverse students, staff, and faculty.

  • Coordinating marketing campaigns to promote campus-wide violence prevention and response initiatives.

  • Managing and overseeing program budgets; writing quarterly and biannual reports to federal and state funding agencies.

  • Other duties as assigned

This position is grant funded, full -time and is benefit eligible for the University’s full

benefits package.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge and previous experience working with grant reporting and/or grant program oversite

  • Knowledge of gender/sexual violence matters in institutions of higher education.

  • Experience with project management; including overseeing projects through the planning and implementation phases

  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking skills

  • Strong organizational skills to manage campus partners with scheduling meetings, conference calls, and other matters, as necessary.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.

  • Ability to maintain spreadsheets to keep track of the budget, timelines for activities, and processes.

  • Excellent analytical skills, gathering data and presenting in an understandable format.

  • Ability to maintain effective and productive relationships with multiple constituencies including law enforcement officers, administrators, and community organizations.

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized and able to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to use good judgment.

  • Ability to act with sensitivity, neutrality and interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Willingness to work some nights/weekends, as needed.

  • Ability to travel to up to five training and technical assistance institutes during the project award period.

  • Ability to support the University’s goals for institutional diversity,

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • Five (5) years related experience with victim services and or related programs, this includes sexual violence prevention projects

  • Experience in implementing comprehensive policies and protocols for OVW within a college and/or university setting

  • Knowledge of the Department of Justice – Violence Against Women (OVW) Grants/Program

Physical/Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per university policies.

    Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.

The Mercy University Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:

Deferred Compensation Plan

All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the University.

Defined Contribution Plan

Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.

If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources.
