Job Posting Summary

Under supervision of the Director of Programs, this position provides clerical assistance support to the Director of Programs and as needed to the AVP of the Division of Workforce Credentialing and Community Impact.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Processes and creates workshop certificates, including sending information to NY State

  • Provides support to students via phone and email

  • Tracks work progress

  • Assists with scheduling

  • Supports Director of Programs in outreach, program development and student/client contact

  • Assist in data collection and management

  • Makes phone calls as needed for recruitment purposes

  • Assists Office Manager on specific projects

  • Adds/edits information on Destiny One as needed

  • Occasionally provides support for projects and outreach for the Office of the AVP

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of administrative or project support experience or equivalent in an academic environment

  • Efficient, well organized working style; proficient at planning work and meeting important deadlines

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral communication, problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Access, among others; willingness to train on other software as needed

  • Demonstrated evidence of detail-orientation, customer service orientation, and ability to work independently with others in areas of responsibility

    Education Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree

    Physical/Other Requirements:

  • Time requirements: 15 - 20 hours/week, with a minimum of one workday on site

  • Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per college policies

    Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.

    Mercy University promotes a community campus environment.
