Job Description:

About the Role:

The QA Systems Technologist role at the Dixon location supports the completion of microbiological analysis of finished products, raw materials, and environmental samples for the plant. The role also includes oversight and responsibility for the implementation and validation methods and writing and establishing specifications. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Acquiring knowledge of plant operations to support QA and Operations in addressing food safety and quality issues.

  • Collection, analyzing, and interpreting environmental samples for microbiological evaluation to assess sanitation effectiveness in production areas.

  • Assisting in aspects of deviation holds and final disposition to include releasing or destructing product as required.

  • Supporting QA Lab as a back up to other supervisors for the development of daily schedules, allocating labor, and adjusting as needed based on resources.

  • Assisting in audits with record presentation and explanation to auditors, including GFSI, Internal, and Customer/3rd party audits

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies or other quality-related certifications such as HACCP, GMPs, SQF, and other relevant audits.

Important Details: This is a full-time onsite role supporting 1st shift plant quality and microbiology needs. Some schedule flexing may be required.

About You:

You’ll fit right in if you have:

  • Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field required

  • 1 Year of laboratory experience required

  • Strong knowledge of excel, SAP or other inventory/data tracking systems

  • Strong knowledge of document control systems and processes and ability to stay organized and on track

  • Strong communication skills at all levels of management

  • Strong knowledge of Inspection and Quality Control methods, techniques, equipment, and measurement and testing procedures

  • Previous experience in a laboratory, especially in a manufacturing environment – food manufacturing is a plus
