Sr. Tax Accountant
The Senior Tax Accountant plays a critical role in all aspects of indirect tax compliance at Niagara including sales/use tax, property tax, business licenses, value-added tax, among others.
Essential Functions
Manage comprehensive sales and use tax functions, including monthly compliance, multi-state sales and use taxability with regards to all company matrices, issue tax exempt certificate, maintain and reconcile sales and use tax liabilities on a monthly basis, update current tax rules and tax legislation changes to comply with applicable tax rates and other reporting requirements, research sales tax issue for all current and future locations
Review and modify current procedures to address tax variance issues with Accounts Payable
Take complete ownership of EBTax Module (Oracle R12) including, but not limited to, setting up new tax rules, fiscal code classification, maintain sales tax rules database
Manage all property tax compliance, including filing returns, calculating assessments, tax bill payments, calculating accruals, budgeting, value trends, and appeal management
Defend all sales and use tax audits, property tax audits, and any other indirect tax audits (including, but not limited to, providing data, conducting plant tours, entering into settlements)
Manage relationship and work cohesively with Economic Development to ensure we obtain the best tax incentives possible
Perform annual incentive compliance with governmental agencies regarding property tax/sales tax abatements
Perform indirect tax due diligence research to support domestic and foreign expansions
Review B&O Tax and Sweetener Tax to comply with relevant laws, policies, and regulations
Oversee the formation of our real estate LLCs, including the setting up of business accounts, handling of their financial accounting, rent collection, and administrative tasks
QuickBooks bookkeeping for real estate entities
Assist with other special projects as assigned

Competencies
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in an ERP system such as Oracle or SAP

Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.

Intermediate knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

Education
Minimum Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or other related field
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or other related field
Certification/License

Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

$95,301.00 - $138,186.00 / Yearly
