Manufacturing Technology Engineer I

The Engineer I applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies. Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems. Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects. Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects. Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of packaging specifications, related test methods and SOPs.

  • Conduct validations of new products and production lines to ensure capability and conformance to specifications.

  • Perform qualification trials for new raw materials and vendors.

  • Provide training to factory personnel on packaging tests and standards to drive a focus on packaging quality.

  • Audit production lines and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality and line efficiencies.

  • Conduct packaging audits to monitor finished product quality at the consumer level.

  • Create detailed reports and presentations to present to company management.

  • Travel to perform on-site tests in satellite plants 25-50%

  • Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.

  • Strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills to communicate effectively with immediate team and peers.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work well in collaborative group environments

  • Strong attention to detail and organization.

  • Intermediate knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related field
