Engineer II

  • The Engineer II applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies. Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems. Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects. Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects. Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment

Essential Functions

  • Batching Optimization - Streamline processes, improve efficiency, enhance overall performance, maximize yields, reduce scrap

  • Conduct system analysis – determine workflow bottlenecks

  • Map Batching process – conduct Time Retention Studies

  • Evaluate batch and thermal equipment performance and root cause of production stoppages

  • Standardize batching practices and batching recipes

  • Monitor and analyze batch and thermal data

  • Test and validate changes; document changes

  • Seek professional advice when required

  • Conduct process batch and thermal audits

  • Implement lean principles – reduce waste

  • Create Job aids, policies and SOPs as required

  • Travel requirement of at least 50% expected, on occasion up to 75%

  • Create detailed technical reports and business presentations to company management

  • Recommend cost-effective solutions to complex problems.

  • Help manage and maintain batching and thermal recipes for all processes at assigned beverage facilities

  • Conduct batch and thermal trial and commissioning for new products

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment

The Engineer II is expected to demonstrate:

  • Performs work under general supervision.

  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.

  • May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.

  • Strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills to communicate effectively with immediate team and peers.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work well in collaborative group environments

  • Strong attention to detail and organization.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

  • Able to set tone and drive pace on projects and make flexible adjustments to direction, as needed.

  • Travel to plant sites and otherwise work from home office.

  • Must have internet connections and ability to train/attend meetings remotely from home office. Laptop and VPN will be provided by company.

  • Train / mentor others remotely through virtual conference calls (ex. Teams, Webex)

  • Work in a plant may include standing for hours, walking, hot/cold plant environments. Must wear plant PPE for food protection and safety while at plants.

Education

  • Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or other related field

  • Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or other related field

$85,229.38 - $123,582.61 / Yearly
