YOUR ROLE

  • The Global Key Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing Henkel’s General Motors account in North America (USA, Canada and Mexico) through the development and execution of a regional strategic plan.

  • The GKAM is responsible to align these growth strategies with regional KAM counterparts globally to identify and capitalize on any synergies which exist.

  • Accountable for all regional strategies to be aligned and represent a sound go to market strategy to deliver the most value to Henkel for the General Motors account.

  • Drive sales growth through the development of key partnerships in the customer organization in order to understand customer needs, identify unmet needs, and apply technical and solution selling techniques to capitalize on those opportunities.

  • Monitor and develop countermeasure strategies if key performance characteristics of the GM account are not meeting goals (ex. Financial performance, customer satisfaction, etc.).

  • Manage the customer relationship to ensure a high degree of customer intimacy for all key stakeholders (with a focus on technical decision makers and Sr. Managers responsible for setting the strategic technical direction) relative to the Henkel value proposition.

  • Challenge the status quo, resulting in an over-proportional growth in sales and profitability commensurate with the overall strategic directives of the business.

  • Effectively coordinate the execution of new design programs and product introductions at the account with Product Development, Marketing, Operations, Quality and other appropriate Henkel personnel.

  • Continuously update professional selling and leadership skills to keep pace with the practical daily business use of business software and communication equipment and to acquire and maintain an in-depth knowledge of Henkel products and their application in customer processes.

  • Responsible for timely and accurate administrative tasks supporting the account strategy including providing a monthly Regional Account Forecast, qualification and implementation of products to customer requirements, maintenance of the ACE project management system, coordination of specification reviews and preparation of monthly reports inclusive of financial metric/performance data.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Bachelors of Science in a technical or business discipline, MBA preferred.

  • 7+years of relevant sales/account management experience in the automotive industry with a focus on technical and solution sales is required.

  • Demonstrated success in the development and execution of strategic initiatives resulting in sales growth.

  • Outstanding presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Familiarity with the evaluation and utilization of financial metrics to evaluate current and further develop future account strategies for success.

  • Regular travel (25%) within the United States to GM plants.

  • Candidate will be expected to work out of our Madison Heights, MI location.

The salary for this role is $138,000.00 - $173,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
