Description

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Fleet team is looking for an experienced fleet professional for their Sr. Manager, Program Management role to execute on Amazon Transportation Service’s fleet growth goals. An ideal candidate will be driving new programs to help Amazon become the industry leader in sustainable transportation.

This role is inherently cross-functional—you will work closely with Business Development, Core Operations, Legal, Finance, WW Sustainability, Product Teams, Network Planning, and Executive Leadership to grow Amazon’s Middle Mile Fleet. This job will require exceptional communication skills and having the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment with all levels of leadership, and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist. The successful candidate will be proficient at solving transportation challenges and possess a bias to get things done and deliver results. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a core team of Program Managers responsible for vehicle specifications and vehicle builds that help achieve safety, cost, efficiency, and operational requirements.

  • Lead medium and heavy-duty vehicle purchasing programs - liaison/partner with internal stakeholders to identify vehicle requirements, conduct RFPs, secure required fleet capex/opex, partner with suppliers to ensure vehicles are produced and delivered on time, and with the right quality and desired performance.

  • Hold OEMs and Suppliers accountable for pricing, cost, delivery, and service expectations.

  • Develop core program management documentation, including detailed business requirements and standard work documents

  • Identify success criterion for alternative fuel vehicle fleet deployment, inclusive of asset allocation strategy, infrastructure requirements, maintenance, and customer experience

  • Industry Technical Leadership - partner with suppliers and manufacturers to identify, develop, and implement new technology.

  • Address barriers through problem solving and coordination with stakeholders

  • Directly influence the definition and management of the strategic roadmaps for the network

  • Please note, 25+% travel is required for this position.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
