Henry Ford Health System Neuro Ophthalmologist in Detroit, Michigan

The Henry Ford Medical Group Department of Ophthalmology is seeking an Ophthalmologist or Neurologist with fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology. Applicants must have graduated from a fully accredited residency, have training in an approved fellowship, and be Board certified or eligible along with licensure in the state of Michigan. The successful candidate will have both clinical and educational responsibilities in the department.

Position Details

The Department of Ophthalmology is located throughout Metro Detroit and is one of the largest ophthalmic practices in the country. It is a department of the Henry Ford Medical Group, one of the nation’s largest and most experienced group practices with 1,900 physicians and researchers in more than 40 specialties.

Applicants are expected to have a strong commitment to clinical care, teaching, and research in an academic setting. This position will include training ophthalmology residents and neuro-ophthalmology fellows.

For ophthalmology-trained candidates, there will be opportunities to develop a surgical practice if desired. For neurology-trained candidates with interest, there is an opportunity to also practice neurology in a primarily inpatient-based practice at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.

  • Applicants must have graduated from a medical school program accredited by: (1) the Liaison Committee on Medical Education which is sponsored by the American Medical Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges, or (2) the Canadian Medical Association; or (3) a College of Osteopathic Medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association; or (4) have successfully passed the ECFMG or equivalent qualifying examination.

  • Applicants must have completed an ACGME approved Ophthalmology or Neurology residency program and be Board eligible or certified in his/her specialty.

  • Board certification must occur within the first three years of eligibility.

  • Must have additional fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology.
