McLaren Health Care MRI Technologist - McLaren Careers in Detroit, Michigan

Position Summary:

Performs routine and complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures at a technical level that will produce high quality images consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

:

  1. Specializes in performing routine and complex MRI procedures.

  2. Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concernsto foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.

  3. Operates and maintains all assigned MRI equipment to ensure it works properly.

  4. Positions patients and utilizes equipment in order to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.

  5. Properly identifies, prepares and/or administers medications that are within the technologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.

Required:

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.

  • Advanced ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in radiology.
