Join us!Job Posting TitleLead Engineer - Hydraulic ComponentsJob Description SummaryResponsible for design, development and release of hydraulic actuation and lubrication components for AAM products; including but not limited to All-Wheel Drive (AWD), Torque Transfer Device (TTD) and eDrive units.Job DescriptionMajor Duties / Requirements:•Responsible for design, development and release of hydraulic actuation and lubrication components for AAM products; including but not limited to All-Wheel Drive (AWD), Torque Transfer Device (TTD) and eDrive units.•Adhere to AAM's Product Development Process through all phases of the program•Understand component requirements and document product specifications for hydraulic actuation and lubrication components. Key components include pumps (gear type, gerotor type, etc.), pistons, valves and filters.•Perform sizing calculations, design activities and submit design service requests•Ensure component design meets actuation and lubrication requirements•Lead component DFMEA reviews and updates as needed. Support system DFMEA•Support definition and completion of ADVPR and DVPR per program timing.•Submit requests for CAE analysis (flow requirements, pressure requirements, etc.)•Provide guidance for lubrication requirements (lube flow rate, path, pressure, etc.)•Collaborate with system, software and manufacturing teams to ensure design meets system and program requirements•Define performance requirements to supplier. Lead supplier communication and development activities•Participate in technical reviews and supplier selection activities led by purchasing team. Responsible for sourcing approval for technical integrity of component design based on product specificationsrints/requirements•Define optimized designs and manufacturing methods for performance (response, accuracy, durability and efficiency).•Support and/or Lead Engineering Incident Reports (EIRs)/8Ds/etc. to determine root cause, establish corrective actions, prevent recurrence and document lessons learned•Lead / Support product and technology roadmap for AAM clutch engineering•Actively participate in understanding customer needs, benchmarking activities and market trends to create roadmap for AAM hydraulic product portfolio•Actively participate in AAM product engineering vision to create, define and pursue standard designs, analytical tools and manufacturing methods•Develop, coordinate and pursue plans for strategic projects to support department roadmap and vision•Meet budget and timing for strategic projects•Perform CAE and 3D CAD for concept designs. Provide technical direction to CAD designers, manufacturingrocess engineers, suppliers, analysts, test engineers, etc.•Lead and /or support documentation, presentations and attendance in design reviews, peer reviews and management report-outs•Flexibility to Perform Hands-On Development Work, Teardown Analysis in Lab and Workshop Environment. Adhere to AAM safety protocols and equipment.Required Skills and EducationRequired•Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering5-7 years' experience with Driveline / Hydraulic Component Design and Development.Preferred•Masters Degree in Mechanical
