Job Description SummaryGeneral Purpose of Position: The successful Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer is one that is conscientious, detail orientated, and a self-starter able to work from a verbal or written instruction. They are committed to quality, precision, and timeliness in their deliverables. These deliverables are achieved while maintaining a safe and organized working environment

Job Description Major Duties/ Responsibilities: 1. Utilize CMM using PCDMIS CAD software and inspection equipment i.e., height gauges, micrometers, bore gauges, surface analyzer, etc to measure/layout complex components to engineering requirements. 2. Write CMM programs and program CMM using CAD models and/or blueprints to measure complex components to verify conformance to engineering specifications and standards. 3. Interpret and understand complex technical documentation such as blueprints and specifications. 4. Perform and certify inspections & tests in accordance with technical documentation. 5. Maintain inspection documentation (written, electronic and photographic). 6. Strong level of interpersonal/communication skills to work effectively with management, engineering, suppliers and customers. 7. High level of problem solving skills to identify/perform root cause analysis on machining and/or assembly issues and offer recommendations for resolution. 8. Successfully complete measurements and tasks on time to aggressive schedules. 9. Able to manually lift and manipulate heavy objects (Up to 50 lbs). Ability to use lift assist devices for heavier objects. 10. Comply with all AAM safety policies and procedures. 11. Available to work overtime if required. This encompasses Saturday and Sunday. 12. Perform other duties as assigned. 13. Ability to work independently while exhibiting team work skills with co-workers and others. 14. Committed to maintaining excellent housekeeping and safety practices. 15. Proficient computer skills, especially in MS Office applications. 16. Must demonstrate flexibility on job assignments

Required Skills and Education 1. CMM programming with PC-DMIS software and inspection layout. 2. Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing. 3. Ability to manage multiple projects with dynamic priorities. 4. 2 year Associate Technical degree plus at least 2 years' experience in a mechanical or electronics related field or high school diploma plus at least 5 years' experience in a mechanical or electronics related field. 5. Minimum 5 years experience in automotive, aerospace or prototype manufacturing operations.
