Description We are seeking an Accounting Clerk for a non-profit organization based in Detroit, Michigan. The role primarily involves data entry of invoices and purchase orders into the system for payables, as well as performing other administrative duties as required. The employment type for this role is contract-based.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in entering data from invoices and purchase orders into the system for payables

• Perform administrative duties as required

• Utilize MS Excel for various accounting tasks

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) related tasks

• Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity

• Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to accounting entries

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and accurate accounting procedures

• Stay updated with industry trends and changes in non-profit accounting regulations

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the same. Requirements • The applicant must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the non-profit sector.

• Proficiency in MS Excel is essential for handling and analyzing financial data.

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.

• The applicant must have strong numerical skills to deal with large amounts of financial data.

• Excellent attention to detail is required to maintain accurate records and identify any discrepancies.

• A high level of integrity is expected as the role involves handling confidential financial information.

• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is crucial for this role.

• Strong communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with team members and external stakeholders.

• Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and regulations would be advantageous.
