About the Role:
As a Product Manager in the Cloud Kafka team at Confluent, your job will be to take Kafka’s Cloud-Native journey on Confluent Cloud to the next level. You will drive making Confluent Cloud the most performant data streaming platform, build cloud-native features, improve our multi-tenant product offerings, and innovate on our serverless strategy.
You will partner closely with the core engineering to prioritize the needs of our customers and other engineering teams to make our Confluent Cloud clusters scale, perform, and provide an amazing customer experience.
What You Will Do:
Set the strategy: Identify opportunities for Confluent Cloud to better meet our customer promises and expectations.
Define the roadmap: Plot a course with your engineering counterparts that will realize the strategy.
Understand our users: Conduct interviews and analyze usage data to define personas, user journeys, and key jobs to be done.
Work across teams: Create shared understanding and direction across engineering, product, business development, support, sales, and marketing teams within Confluent and externally with our partners.
Be responsible for the whole lifecycle: Drive multi-company, cross-functional initiatives from conception through initial delivery, and ongoing iteration after launch.
Close the loop: Define quantitative and qualitative targets, measure performance against them, share results with stakeholders, and incorporate those learnings into the next development cycle.
Manage complexity: Deliver value while handling the surprises and challenges of a quickly evolving product, ambitious partnership targets, and a rapidly growing organization.
Develop a strategic vision of where to invest our effort to help our customers succeed.
Think through a great end-to-end product experience with a focus on detailed user stories.
Create a roadmap to deliver that experience to customers.
Engage with customers and users to create a feedback loop between planning and execution.
Align with engineering and partner teams other teams to define tradeoffs and align roadmaps.
What You Will Bring:
7+ years of software product management experience
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication and experience working in a collaborative and remote environment
Experience working with cross-functional teams, communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to empathize with Confluent Cloud users in order to provide them with a great experience
Hands-on cloud computing experience with a strong understanding of the differences among the major cloud providers
Understanding of multi-tenancy principles
Experience with multi-tenant, serverless SaaS products
Experience defining product functional specifications including API, CLI and GUI

We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $179,200 - 210,600 USD an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
