Wells Fargo Property Tax Associate - Leasing in DES MOINES, Iowa

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Tax Associate in Indirect Property Tax as part of the Commercial Banking Operations (CBO) division. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com

In this role, you will:

  • Perform tax accounting activities related to the preparation of federal, state and local property tax returns and the financial statement accounting for property taxes

  • Prepare routine tax work papers, account reconciliations, responses to audit requests, research memos and correspondence

  • Maintain records related to property tax returns and reports

  • Receive direction from manager and exercise independent judgment while developing basic knowledge of federal and state property tax laws, rulings, regulations and judicial decisions affecting corporations

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, managers and external stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of Corporate Tax experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting

  • Accounting or finance experience

  • Property tax experience

  • Knowledge of Property Tax Management Software (PTMS) or other property tax software

  • Experience with Tax Research software (CCH, IRA)

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of equipment finance and leasing

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Job Expectations:

  • This is a Hybrid position which requires at least 3 days a week in office.

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.
