Kemin Industries Project Manager - Marketing in Des Moines, Iowa

Overview

Kemin is seeking a Project Manager responsible for global projects and activities that support and drive the growth of Kemin’s global products and strategic initiatives, with a specific focus on the business projects related to Specialty Crop Improvement (SCI) programs and three Global Strategic Portfolios (GSP).

This role will work in close collaboration with SCI, GSP, Worldwide Marketing and BU leadership teams to drive strategic projects and activities across Kemin. This requires cross-functional coordination with marketing, sales, operation, technical service and R&D teams of different Business Units (BUs) in executing the project.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the SCI, GSP and BU teams to understand project dependencies, technical aspects, strategic vision and business needs for each project to manage stakeholders, communication and reporting needs effectively.

  • Create, manage and drive product launch plans and outline interdependencies to drive alignment across BUs, regions and functions, in close collaboration with Marketing, R&D, IPRA, Sales, Operation and IT teams where applicable.

  • Implement PIP innovation process and work with BU teams to increase product launch success and determine readiness of external product promotion ensuring quality and specifications are met to ensure product fits market needs.

  • Manage stakeholder's expectations and drive project successes through comprehensive communication planning, project status reports, issue escalation, and understanding internal customer requirements.

  • Responsible for creating monthly project reports to track the health of the project and identify major gaps and risks including resource limitations, needed CAPEX requests or delays to project timelines.

  • Continuously review portfolio strategy to align project initiatives to company goals and business case.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Science or related field

  • More than 10 years of project management experience in a business environment.

  • Experience in a scientific, technical or commercial business role in animal, plant, pet or human health is a strong advantage.

  • Excellent organizational skills and project management skills with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects efficiently in order to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong cross functional team, leadership and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively in a diverse team environment and partner with other functions and business units within a matrix organization.

  • Good writing and presentation skills. Able to provide adequate synthesis and present key insights.

  • Understanding of cultural diversity and international experience highly desired.

  • A high degree of personal motivation, a desire to make an immediate contribution and a sense of urgency.

  • Demonstrated integrity and honesty in all aspects.

  • Must have a solid understanding and adherence to the Servant Leadership philosophy.
