Job Description

As the Data Science Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data science products and features. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, designers, and business stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge solutions that address customer needs and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and prioritize the product backlog based on customer needs, market trends, and business goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define success metrics, and validate product hypotheses.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories, working closely with data scientists and engineers.
  • Lead the development process, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, user feedback, and model performance to drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in data science techniques, tools, and technologies, and identify opportunities to integrate them into products.
  • Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making and experimentation within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5 years) as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with a focus on data science products or projects.
  • Strong understanding of data science principles, machine learning techniques, and statistical modeling.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for driving insights from data.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with data science tools and libraries (e.g., SQL, Python, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Certification in Agile Product Management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner).

Pay Range

Salary: $90,000 - $125,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
