GENERAL DESCRIPTION

PLEXSYS is seeking qualified candidates to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program.

AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFAMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.

The Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) Enterprise Programmer will provide DMO scheduling assistance to develop an Event Coordination System (ECS)-like AF Enterprise scheduling system and to maximize near-term USAF DMO scheduling capabilities. DMOSS priorities will be determined by ACC-led DMO Scheduling Working Groups, and in coordination with the DMOSS IT team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program new capabilities IAW industry and government programming standards and best practices

  • Work with the DMO Scheduling Working Group to consult on levels of effort, methods, and new capability feasibility assessments

  • Create, test, and implement new DMO Scheduling System (DMOSS) capabilities

  • Work with other software agencies with related capabilities, per government direction, to incorporate “hooks” for interoperability with relevant scheduling systems (e.g., Patriot Excalibur (PEX), Graduate Training Integration Management System (GTIMS), Central Scheduling Enterprise (CSE), Microsoft SharePoint)

  • Correct reported discrepancies with DMOSS software

  • Work with the DMO Scheduling Working Group to consult on levels of effort, methods, and new capability feasibility assessments

    REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Modeling & Simulation, Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Systems, Network or Software), Computer Science or IT and three (3) years of practical software programming experience; or

  • Non-technical Bachelor degree with at least six (6) years of practical software programming experience

  • Knowledge and/or experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL

  • Familiarity with JQuery and AJAX desired

  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers effectively both oral and written

  • Ability to attain/maintain Secret security clearance
