Description

  • Be part of an enterprise level, network team operation. The IT Technician 2 will support network operations within a commercial data center setting.

Duties

  • Prepares stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches).

  • Follow specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails.

  • Set up equipment properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).

  • Perform post-execution quality checks and verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures.

  • Quickly identify the cause(s) of issues, and replace faulty components.

  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refresh (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.

  • Follow procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads.

Additional

  • Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Required: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.

  • Required: 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

  • Required: Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

  • Required: Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays.

  • Previous datacenter experience a plus.

Shift

  • 1st Shift: 6am-6pm

  • 3rd Shift: 6pm-6am

  • Frontside Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday

  • Backside Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday
