Description

Come work for us at the ChildServe Spirit Cafe! Our team provides quality meals to children and families on our inpatient care units, as well as meals for our staff. The Cook will be responsible for providing high quality, nutritious food and fluids at appropriate temperatures and with appropriate texture modifications, while maintaining sanitary procedures. This individual will also monitor work completed on each respective shift so all tasks are completed. Some days you'll be cooking, some days you'll be prepping. Pay based on cooking experience. Great job if you like variety in your work!Compensation Starting pay rate for this position is between $16-18/hour. Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week. Schedule is generally Monday-Friday and every other weekend.

What You'll Do Food Preparation:

  • Follows daily menu.

  • Uses recipes for all food prepared.

  • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.

    Customer Service:

  • Greets customers with a positive, friendly, courteous attitude.

  • Provides information about the menu selections and pricing.

  • Problem solves by being a good listener to understand what a customer needs and being flexible with individuals for special needs, yet follows our basic principles for pricing.

  • Cashier Responsibilities.

    What You'll Need

  • In the process of getting high school diploma or GED; high school diploma/GED preferred.

  • Must be 18 years of age to use equipment.

  • A minimum of six months’ experience as a cook in a health care facility, restaurant or cafeteria, or worked as a cook’s assistant with on-the-job training is required.

  • Experience as a Prep Cook is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.

  • This position is subject to COVID-19 safety requirements.
