At our specialist site in Shardlow, Derbyshire we are looking to recruit a Regulatory Scientist within the Ecotoxicology team.

The Regulatory Scientist shapes and executes our ecotoxicology development strategy enhancing and growing the business through internal and external collaborations. As a subject matter expert, the Regulatory Scientist is also responsible for leading and developing the Study Direction team to deliver scientifically robust and GLP compliant Ecotoxicology studies for regulatory submission.

Job Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing the ecotoxicology strategic growth plans for the advancement of scientific capabilities to meet future regulatory needs

  • Promoting the Labcorp brand at scientific events and meetings, showcasing our capabilities through presentations and publications

  • Knowledge of current expectations for the technical and regulatory aspects of Ecotoxicology

  • Identifying new technologies and applications of potential benefit to drive continuous improvement

  • Act as key subject matter expert, collaborating with internal teams and providing customers with advice and guidance on all aspects of Ecotoxicology

  • Leading and developing the Study Direction team, ensuring both professional and personal development through training, education and networking

  • Oversight of scientific, technical and regulatory conduct of studies including study interpretation and regulatory acceptance

  • Ensuring the quality and on time delivery of ecotoxicology studies to meet the agreed customer timelines

  • Regular customer meetings and engagement, supporting customers with study design, scientific conduct and troubleshooting

  • Hosting Ecotoxicology focused visits and presenting scientific capabilities

Skills and experience

  • Full understanding of the regulatory requirements and the scientific techniques of Aquatic and or Terrestrial Ecotoxicology studies required

  • Extensive experience of client management and technical expertise in the relevant business line

  • Previous experience in a Study Director role or equivalent would be useful but not essential

  • PhD or equivalent, or MSc/BSc degree in an appropriate scientific discipline

  • Experience of a range of techniques/approaches relevant to the department and/or unique expertise for a specific scientific service

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring and supervision

  • Skilled data interpretation and report writing experience
