Need data center technicians for:

Connectivity and Hardware Support for IMACD - Installation, Move, Add, Change, Decommissioning 

Voice and Data Cabling

Rack and Stack of data center hardware

Seeking technicians to perform cabling/connectivity and to support network hardware. The work will include all types of patching, break-fix, circuit provision and recovery, disconnect/reconnect of desktop and networking equipment, rack and stack of Data Center Hardware (Server, Network and Storage) and provision of connectivity to Data Center Hardware.

Need 2 candidates will can work onsite in the Derby / Shelton CT area.

SHIFT:

Tuesday thru Friday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Saturday  8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Audit and document existing cabling installations.

  • Audit and document desktop configuration, including patching and power, for existing and proposed user locations.

  • Compile patching schedules as required.

  • Utilize Cable Management Software as required for patching planning.

  • Power down and disconnect all desktop equipment including any peripherals ensuring all identified and labeled correctly ready for reconnection.

  • IMAC-D of all desktop equipment including any peripherals

  • Carry out Data Wiping activities by use of Software tools. 

  • Carry out all types of patching including voice & data, copper & fibre.

  • Carry out testing and fault finding on Copper and Fibre Cabling

  • Carry out all types of Copper Voice and Data terminations as required

  • Carry out surveys and update drawings and schedules.

  • Install and test analog, digital and VOIP telephone handsets and provide headset support as required.

  • Build, Rack and Stack Network and Server hardware in Data Centre Halls and provide connectivity.

  • Perform Network Hardware break-fix activities e.g. replacing power supplies, modules, fans etc.

    Experience should include:

  • Working in Voice and Data Cabling environment 

  • Moves Adds and Changes environment 

  • Thorough understanding and practical experience of fibre and copper voice and data cabling including terminating, test equipment, test parameters and test techniques

  • Knowledge of Rack and Stack of Server Hardware and Rack and Stack Systems

  • Good knowledge of Service Now (and other Process and Asset Management Tools)

  • Good knowledge of Server Patching 

  • Knowledge of LAN / WAN and Active devices
