DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Vice President of Construction Services organizes, plans and directs the project management and field operations functions for High Concrete Group across all geography (Mid Atlantic and Midwest).  Leads project management and field operations process to ensure maximum profitability and customer satisfaction in support of HCG objectives.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:       * Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field Registered Professional Engineer preferred                 * Ten (10) years progressive experience managing commercial construction projects at a divisional level with extensive knowledge of multiple disciplines: project management, estimating, engineering and erection; demonstrated experience in personnel development

LICENSE, CERTIFICATES OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:    Registered Professional Engineer

DIMENSIONS: EXEMPT: 25 +/- Project Executives, General Superintendent, Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Load Coordinator, Senior Field Ops Superintendents, Field Ops Superintendent

NONEXEMPT: 6 +/- Leadperson, Field Ops Shipping Coordinator, Site Hardware Specialist

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Vice President of Construction Services reports directly to the President of High Concrete Group and is accountable to him/her on a daily basis.  Has 8+/- direct reports consisting of Project Executives, Sr. Project Managers, and General Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  * Provides the overall leadership within the HCG Project Management and Field Operations teams to achieve budget and cost efficiency in field operations while meeting erection schedules to assure customer satisfaction. Key measurements include cost variance and A/R reports.  * Develops and maintains a well-coordinated, efficient organizational structure. Provides guidance and direction to Project Management and Field Operations team members in support of their personal and professional development.  Selects, trains, and develops subordinates.  * Assists Sales and Legal in final contract negotiations as needed to facilitate early involvement and participation in the review of field operations scope.  * Assigns projects to Project Management team with input from Sales and Estimating to ensure maximum efficiency in Project Managers' schedules coupled with customer requirements. Coordinates project schedules with the General Contractor, Erector, Engineering/Drafting, and Production schedules.  * Conducts regularly scheduled department meetings for the purpose of reporting and communicating activities related to erection status, accounts receivable, delivery schedule, product quality, and project cost.  * Negotiates conditions and terms of subcontractor agreements, assuring specifications and requirements match the bid and are enforced.  * Reviews with Project Managers and/or Field Operations Foreman any out of scope requirements or costs related to erection; including design work, scheduling deliveries, pre-erection sequencing, patching, grouting, remedial work on all projects and issues a change order when appropriate.  * Develops and maintains strategic relationships with general contractors, architects, subcontractors, state and municipal officials, as well as industry contacts with PCI, PC1-MA, etc.  * Maintains knowledge of and personal contact with key customers on a regular basis to assure their needs are being met.  * Directs the preparation of the capital and operating budgets for approval.  * Establishes annual coworker performance objectives, schedules periodic reviews and recommends salary adjustments within the guidelines of the annual budget process.  * Demonstrates awareness of High Industries, Inc. Corporate policies and programs on all matters relate to operations, personnel, safety, and customers, or any other matters, and ensure they are followed at all levels.  * Participates as a member of the HCG Leadership team.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  * Demonstrates commitment to the continuous improvement process and serves as a role model.  * Keeps up-to-date on industry trends in order to be aware of new methods, equipment, etc. Attends industry association meetings, conferences and trade shows.  * Assists and advises President of High Concrete Group on any projects or assignments as required  * Performs other duties and assignments as required within the scope of job responsibilities.
