University Of Denver Visiting Teaching Assistant Professor, Communication Studies in Denver, Colorado
As the University's largest and most varied academic unit, the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is comprised of artists, learners, performers, scholars, scientists, and teachers across 21+ departments, programs, schools, and centers and acts as a central hub where many of the University's disciplines intersect. Position Summary
The Department of Communication Studies at the University of Denver seeks to hire a 3/4 Visiting Teaching Assistant Professor for two quarters of the 2024-2025 academic year, beginning in January 2025.
Fulfillment of this position is contingent on available funding. This position may be extended beyond 2024-2025 depending on need, funding, and performance.
The person hired for this position will teach six courses over the winter and spring quarters. Primary responsibilities during 2024-2025 will include teaching undergraduate general education and communication studies major courses. Ability to teach the introductory Practicing Communication and Theorizing Communication courses is preferred.

Essential Functions
- Teach six in person courses including undergraduate general education and communication studies major courses
Hold office hours each week outside of scheduled class time Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Expertise in Communication Studies
- Excellent communication skills for classroom teaching and student mentoring
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty
- Teaching experience
Ability to use an online learning management system Required Qualifications:
MA in Communication Studies or related discipline
Teaching experience Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Communication Studies
University level teaching experience in communication studies Working Environment

- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs. with assistance. Work Schedule While the Univer ity's administrative offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).

Salary Range: The salary rate for this position is $37,500
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its
