Robert Half Staff Accountant in Denver, Colorado

Description Robert Half has an opportunity for you to become a critical part of an innovative company, as a full-time Staff Accountant. This is a position you will thrive in, if you are driven by a challenging work environment with many components. Candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation, will be preferred for this Staff Accountant position. This role will involve internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. This Denver, Colorado area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. This is a position you will thrive in, if you are a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Your responsibilities

  • Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

  • Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

  • Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

  • Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  • Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries Requirements - Accounts Payable (AP) experience

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

  • Month end closings experience

  • Journal entries experience

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Skilled with ERP systems

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
