SAIC Senior System Administrator in DENVER, Colorado

Description

SAIC is currently searching for a skilled and seasoned professional to step into the role of Senior Systems Administrator. In this pivotal position, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our technical operations, ensuring seamless functionality across our systems and networks in support of the Department of the Interior for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

This opportunity is contingent upon award.

· Administer user accounts and access permissions, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations

· Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues and implement new solutions

· Conduct regular system audits to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes

· Stay current with industry trends and best practices, continuously enhancing knowledge and skills

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members

· Participate in on-call rotation and respond to system emergencies in a timely manner

· Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance

• Certificate from technical training institute or combination of education and experience will be considered.

• A minimum of 5 years of related technical experience in supporting

• Information Technology environment at the server/data center level. Support may include (but

not limited to): backup and recovery of Data Operations Center (DOC), systems, patching of

systems, providing Tier II/III support to lower tiers, performance tuning, hardware and software

upgrades, operational configurations, resource optimization, etc.

• Ability to support Microsoft and Linux Operating systems. Knowledge of other Microsoft Products used to manage an enterprise operation. Knowledge of VMWare.

• Experience in industry standard data center physical security tools and applications.

• Knowledge of DCIM and tools used. Basic knowledge

of Visual Basic, .NET, C#, PowerShell and other programming/scripting languages.

• Ability to develop project management documentation.

• Has excellent interdepartmental communication skill (written, verbal, presentations).

• Ability to work without guidance and the ability to resolve highly complex problems.

• Ability to lead projects.

• Serves as SME for a Shared Services Enterprise Datacenter information technology projects

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), CPIC, SDLC, IT Security Management, and Risk Management.

• Ability to apply consistent management approaches to IT Portfolio Management that increases the quality of data through best practices and documentation.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and leadership skills.

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
