Job Summary The Quantitative Financial Analyst 3 is a key member of the Treasury team, advancing Flagstar's understanding of its customers, balance sheet, and risk exposures. The Analyst uses advances quantitative and technical skills to produce insightful reporting, analysis, and recommendations that enables sound and profitable risk management and strategic decisions. The Analyst may have assignments related to interest rate risk measurement and management, liquidity risk measurement and management, asset valuation, asset profitability analysis, and fixed income investment portfolio management.

Pay Range: $71,600.00 - $87,947.00 - $132,600.00

Job Responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of financial models used in risk measurement, income simulations, balance sheet management, or asset valuations

  • Analysis of model output, synthesis of information, and communication of conclusions and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to senior managers, executives, and the Board

  • Testing of established models, including back-testing, benchmarking, sensitivity testing, and scenario analysis

  • Develop automated solutions to simplify challenging and repetitive processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of experience or Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience

  • Excellent analytical skills; strong written and oral communication skills, a clear, concise expository style, and advanced interpersonal relations skills

  • Strong project management skills; demonstrated ability to work cooperatively, prioritize and multi-task within in a team- oriented and fast-paced environment

  • Mastery of finance concepts; solid understanding of statistics and quantitative methods preferred

  • Understanding of fixed income securities and analytics preferred; proven experience with object oriented and/or relational database programming preferred.
