Summary:

We're looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and strategic communications professional with exceptional writing skills and a flexible mindset. As a proposal writer, you will be at the center of creating high-impact content to increase Barr's visibility and engagement with clients and other key audiences. In addition to developing proposal strategies, you'll write, edit, and design persuasive proposals and presentations in collaboration with engineers, scientists, and fellow business development and communications specialists. In addition to proposals, you'll have the chance to create project examples, blog posts, social media updates, news stories, feature articles, and thought-leadership content to support our marketing and communications initiatives. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, communications, marketing, or related field

Five years of relatedexperience

Experience writing proposals or other forms of persuasive communications including technical or complex information

Superb written communication, editing, and proofreading skills

Attentiveness to details and deadlines

Strong project-management and organizational skills

Advanced ability to serve as a strategic communications advisor and lead through influence

Working knowledge of graphic-design and document-design principles

Experience or ability to develop content in multiple formats such as video, social media, web content, or infographics

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software

Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

Five or more years of proposal writing and management experience

Experience working in content management systems

Digital marketing experience

Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Prezi, Illustrator, Acrobat, and/or MS Project software

Experience with Microsoft Office 365 platforms, including SharePoint Online and MS Teams

Advanced document-design and graphic-design skills

Technical editing experience

Photography experience

A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Ann Arbor, Bismarck, Denver, Duluth, Grand Rapids, Hibbing, Jefferson City, Minneapolis, and Salt Lake City offices.

Compensation:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $68,000-$85,000/year. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus. Our compensation comes in more ways than traditional base salary, and we believe that when all those elements are combined, our compensation is a competitive part of the total value proposition of working at Barr.
