Under general supervision, responsible for monitoring and technical support of the network, application, and telephony infrastructure including triage, isolation, ticketing, carrier/vendor management and corrective action systems in a 24-hour/7-day-per-week Network Operations Center (NOC).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works with senior team members on workflow around system upgrades. Deploys required patches for identified gaps. Performs routine operating system and hardware preventative maintenance based on hardware and operating system best practices. Supports selection and/ or deployment of tools and processes to support operations and administration of enterprise infrastructure. Understands and consults on system backup plan, documenting, and logging process. Tests disaster/system recovery and provides input to updates.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university. 0-2 years relevant work experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the OSI model. Proficient functions of devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VOIP phones and servers. Proficient layer 2 switching concepts/technologies: MAC addresses, VLANs, Trunks, STP Understands IP addressing, subnetting and ARP Proficiency in routing protocols such as: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP Proficiency in Telecom and ISP Handoff preferred Proficiency in network discovery protocols: SNMP, NetFlow, CDP and LLDP Proficiency in common network troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup Proficient Understanding of Quality-of-Service (QoS) Proficiency of copper and fiber transport medias and their associated standards Strong desire to learn new and emerging technologies CCENT/CCNA/NETWORK+ - Or equivalent knowledge/experience COMPETENCIES Evaluates Problems: Evaluates and analyzes different types of information objectively to identify appropriate solutions; writes fluently, establishing the key facts clearly and interprets numerical data effectively.
