Job Title: Maintenance Tech FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt Reports to: Office Manager Schedule: FT, Varies Supervises: N/A Closing Date:5/16/2024 Rate of Pay: $22.05/hour Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following: Health, vision, dental, life as well as voluntary life and disability insurance Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire) Vacation benefit - 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment) One floating day off for use (accrued immediately, and again annually, but may not be used until the completion of the initial three-month introductory period of employment) Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service) Voluntary Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (403(b)plan) Function: This is a full time, non-exempt, hourly position, 40 hours a week with vacation and sick time as well as medical, dental, and optional insurance coverages. The Maintenance tech is responsible for keeping assigned areas of congregate and non-congregate living spaces in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition. Priorities of this position will include turning over rooms upon exit of residents, daily cleaning and sanitizing of common areas, and complying with all health and safety standards and policies. Duties and Responsibilities: (List by section/topic as possible) Assist in maintaining the assigned facility (primarily inside the building, with limited duties outside, as assigned by supervisor) in a clean and sanitary condition, including but not limited to replenishing bathroom and sanitation supplies, cleaning surface areas, vacuum/mop/sweep floors, emptying trash, and other areas of concern in the facility as defined by the immediate supervisor and Program Manager Responsible for cleaning of guest rooms after move-out, which may include painting and minor repairs when requested. Perform general building upkeep and maintenance, including but not limited to: changing light bulbs, clean air filters (3 months), check fire extinguishers, floor maintenance, gutters, smoke detector/emergency exit checks, and advise supervisor of repairs or supplies needed. Assist in maintaining supplies and equipment necessary for the cleaning of the facility. Inform supervisor of any building and/or equipment repairs needed. Assist in providing both inside and outside security and safety of the building and its occupants. Refer all guest requests to appropriate staff. Maintain ongoing professional relationship with residents and staff. Performs other duties as required. Qualification and Education Requirements: Work experience in custodial, maintenance, and/or housekeeping preferred Must have the ability to speak, read, and write in the English language. Must not show any evidence of substance abuse while performing job duties or while present on Salvation Army property The individual must have good people skills and must show respect for other employees, guests, associates, and the goals and objectives of The Salvation Army.
