Fortis Industries LLC HVAC General Maintenance Worker - Part-Time in Denver, Colorado

HVAC GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER

Fortis Native Group is interviewing for part-time (24hpw), General Maintenance Worker with some HVAC experience for a government contract covering multiple sites in the greater Denver area. This position requires an understanding of commercial/industrial mechanical systems and general maintenance with an emphasis on HVAC equipment. The successful candidate will exhibit ambition, a strong desire to learn new skills and an ability to work with limited supervision. Position requires a general understanding of maintenance requirements for HVAC equipment. Within the first 30 days of employment the candidate must complete company sponsored OSHA 30 General Industry (29 CFR 1910) training and certification.

Typical Duties for this position will include but may not be limited to the following:

Supports the preventive maintenance activities for the facility HVAC systems and equipment Maintains, as directed, functionality of building facilities; door/window repairs, plumbing fixture maintenance/repair, interior/exterior lighting components and assists with HVAC maintenance Assists in service order work completion on facility buildings, systems and grounds as required Reports immediately any/all equipment problems to project manager. Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to the operation of the daily/monthly PM inspections, assigned work orders, and assists in making applicable changes to meet operating requirements Follows company Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies, to include utilization of all required, company supplied PPE

Knowledge/Skillsets: General knowledge of mechanical operations, maintenance and repair of commercial/industrial equipment Basic understanding of electrical systems related to equipment in assigned work area Knowledge of health and safety regulations (OSHA 10) - preferred Effectively and safely operates hand tools, pneumatic tools, air compressors and other small equipment related to the maintenance trades Experience with reporting and data entry through a company provided tablet

Education/Experience: Must possess a high school diploma or GED Additional trade specific HVAC courses - preferred Three (3) years' experience in the maintenance field - preferred

Licenses & Certifications: Must pass drug screening and background checks Must be able to pass a government background check

Work Environment: Employee will be required to work indoor/outdoor, working during seasonal heat and cold or other adverse weather conditions. Employee may be required to work where they may be regularly exposed to fumes, dust and odors Some high noise levels from operations of equipment rooms/areas Must be physically able to complete necessary tasks as related to the maintenance of equipment May have to periodically work after normal work hours for on-call assignments Regular travel between sites in a company provided vehicle will be required. Pay: $28.97 per hour Health & Welfare - $4.57 an hour up to 40 hours
