The Heavy Equipment Oiler performs onsite daily fueling and lube services, operational checks, and minor preventive maintenance services on a variety of heavy construction equipment.

TOTAL COMPENSATION

$24.23 to $43.56 per hour, significant overtime potential, plus a $2,000 signing bonus staggered over first year of continuous employment and up to $500 annual tool reimbursement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel to worksites to perform scheduled fueling and lubrication services to all field equipment and construction machinery.

  • Complete preventative maintenance work orders on a wide variety of heavy equipment including backhoes, scrapers, dozers and excavators.

  • Inspect equipment and report problems.

  • Maintain accurate truck and equipment inspection and service logs on a daily basis and in accordance to DOT requirements.

  • Comply will all applicable DOT rules and regulations.

  • Comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations in regard to disposal and waste.

  • Comply or exceed compliance with applicable company and OSHA regulations in regard to work practices, tool maintenance, equipment, and personal protective equipment.

  • Occasionally may assist heavy equipment mechanics with the replacement of defective or worn parts.

  • Checking primary email on a regular basis for any communication from the company, as this is the company’s primary mode of communication.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Oiler or comparable position working with heavy equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate a lube truck and drive between worksites.

  • Outstanding ability to handle stress, work independently, manage time and multitask.

  • Significant communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers and vendors.

  • Ability to maintain a CDL-B with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsements.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or holidays as required to accommodate customer and project demands

  • Ability to pass pre- and post-employment drug screening

  • Good driving record to be able to drive company vehicles

  • At least 21 years of age

  • Consistent access to a reliable personal email account.

Preferred:

  • 2 plus years of minimum experience servicing trucks and heavy equipment such as scrapers, skid steers, bulldozers, excavators, and backhoes. Troubleshooting experience a plus.

  • High School diploma or GED

LANGUAGE SKILLS

This position requires the ability to communicate in English with co-workers, customers and the general public.

MATH SKILLS

This job requires the ability to do and understand basic math equations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Primary functions require the physical ability and mobility to stand, sit, or lie down for extended periods of time and repeatedly work overhead, kneel, crawl, push, pull, bend, twist, and climb equipment as required by task. Manual dexterity and visual acuity to identify and manipulate small components. Keen olfactory and auditory senses to identify unseen problems with equipment or fluids. Ability to frequently lift 50 to 75 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Combination of repair shop environment and periodic outside repairs exposed to variant weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow) and ability to stand for long periods of time. Regularly exposed to hazards such as noise, fumes, moving equipment, liquids and lubricants.
