A DAY IN THE LIFE

Our Environmental Regulatory Compliance Expert (internal title - Associate Principal) position is remote.

As a key member of the EHSS team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

  • Provide technical support on environmental compliance projects, with special emphasis on regulatory applicability and compliance.
  • Have a strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations and the ability to evaluate and interpret requirements as they apply to our clients.
  • Have a deep understanding of federal environmental regulatory programs (including RCRA, OPA, EPCRA, CAA, CWA, CERCLA, UST, and TSCA).
  • Prepare and communicate technical work products clearly and effectively.
  • Develop compliance management programs under ISO14001 and other related frameworks.
  • Execute and lead compliance audits for various industry sectors.
  • Work as a part of a team to effectively coordinate with clients and regulators to support projects throughout the U.S
  • Contribute to related technical reporting and permitting efforts.
  • Advise companies in developing and implementing corporate environmental strategies.
  • Research US federal and state environmental policies, laws, and regulations to advise multinational companies on the implications to their US operations.
  • Compare US federal laws with corresponding state laws to explain nuanced, state-specific differences to clients with facilities in multiple states.
  • Monitor current and emerging EHS issues to alert clients on future developments in the US.
  • Some travel may be required, up to 15-20% depending on your location. YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • B.S./B.A. degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or other relevant field.
  • At least 8+ years of related work experience, including internships.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with others in a consulting environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Understanding of business risk and materiality concerning regulat ry compliance obligations.
  • Understanding of common industrial activities and the relationship with various environmental media/regulations (e.g., air, wastewater, regulated waste, EPCRA, water, chemical management, tanks, TSCA)
  • Experience with compliance management programs including ISO14001.
  • Experience performing and executing regulatory compliance audits.
  • Due Diligence experience, especially as it relates to mergers and acquisitions is a plus.
