Here is your opportunity to work with one of the latest and greatest technologies within the digital world, VxRail! Design and configure some of the US Geological Survey’s The National Map systems and servers with your innovative thinking and expertise!

Xcellent Technology Solutions is currently looking for a Storage Systems Architect to join the team and be apart of the world-class National Map supporting the US Geological Survey (USGS). The right Storage Architect will have the knowledge and experience on how to keep systems / servers balanced properly and have the ability to design and implement the system from the ground up. As the Architect, you will be responsible for determining where resources (i.e. CPU / storage) need to go; ensuring the configuration is set up, not only in the most efficient way, but also the most cost effective. In addition to having the Storage Architect design and configuration experience, you will need to be familiar with large datasets.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident for at least 3 years (This position requires candidates to receive / maintain a favorable adjudicated Public Trust investigation)

  • Must have at least 5 years of related experience

  • Must have a Bachelors in Computer Science, IT, or similar

  • Proficiency with command line interface for Windows, Linux, Storage, VMWare

  • Experience supporting virtual environment within VMWare, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Configuration.

  • Experience configuring and maintaining EXSi host with vSphere 6.7 and higher

  • Experience with Automation / Scripting with Windows PowerShell, Bash or Perl to increase speed and efficiency; saving money and resources; enhance security

  • Experience with troubleshooting and performance tuning of Linux and Windows server and storage devices

    Nice to have

  • Experience with VxRail and Virtual Cloud Foundation (VCF)
