Job Title: Cook FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt Reports to: Kitchen Manager Schedule: FT, varies Supervises: N/A Start Date: TBD Rate of Pay: $22.77/hour Close Date: 2/24/2024 Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following: Health, vision, dental, life as well as voluntary life and disability insurance Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire) Vacation benefit - 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment) One floating day off for use (accrued immediately, and again annually, but may not be used until the completion of the initial three-month introductory period of employment) Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service) Voluntary Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (403(b)plan) Function: The Cook will assist the Food Service Director at the Harbor Light Center Duties and Responsibilities:: Assist with preparing meals for Harbor Light Residents Help with preparing meals for Crossroads and Men's Shelter Assist in the supervision and coordination of volunteers and residents in meal preparation and service. Assist in the stocking of food, meal planning, and meal preparation. Assist in inventory of pantry and maintaining the pantry in a neat and orderly fashion. Assist in maintaining all company equipment in proper working order, as well as in a sanitary condition. Assist in the maintenance of food preparation areas for compliance with health standards. Maintain good relations with outside service groups. Treat all those receiving shelter with dignity and understanding Will assist, as necessary, in implementing the rules of the shelter program fairly and equitably. Assist staff with in-kind donations, keeping a log of their receipt, issuing a tax receipt to donors and giving receipt copy to administration. Assist in the training and hygiene of all kitchen volunteers Participate fully in all required staff meetings Assist with special events Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience: Education and/or work experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities required.
