Construction Manager
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager with a minimum of 5 years experience in Power Generation Construction. This is a field position and will be located in and around Phoenix, Arizona.
Job Description:
To act as the Owner’s representative to oversee all aspects of Construction Management of an HVDC converter station. Site work, status reporting, owner purchased material, monitoring safety, startup and commissioning, and project closeout. This position is responsible for the project construction management, schedule, and execution oversite.
Employees in this role must function well in a team environment, coordinate with the project general contractor, and effectively communicate progress and concerns to the project owner. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, reporting, and means and methods.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the Work Site construction team and ensure proper representation of the Owner’s on site
Must be schedule driven and cost focused
Must be able to function in a high performing team environment
Read and ensure full understanding of Project Documents which may include but not limited to the following: EPC Agreement and Exhibits, Technical Specifications, drawings, schedules, quality, safety and environmental plan
Support in the coordination of Owner required permits
Provide the Owner with continuous update on progress and any other project related issues. This includes, but not limited to, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Site Incidents, Safety, Equipment Deliveries, Non- Conformance Reports, etc.
Coordinate communication between the Owner, EPC Contractor(s), and/or Suppliers as and when required
Attend meetings with the Owner, EPC Contractor(s), Site Team and/or Suppliers as and when required
Participate in site walk-arounds as required
Monitor the EPC Contractor(s)’s progress and report any potential delays and/or anticipated risks to deadlines and milestones
Verify the EPC Contractor(s)’s installations are in compliance with the project QA/QC standards and specification. Record and report any deficiency or non-compliance to the Owner
Support the coordination of utilities, commissioning, electrical and mechanical completions, and inspection of the EPC Contractor(s)’ work
Verify EPC Contractor(s), suppliers and subcontractors have safety management personnel onsite to properly manage the Site Safety Plan
This position could require travel for regional, national and possibly international clients/projects
Qualifications:
Must be legally able to work in the USA
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university/program or approved equivalent accreditation and experience is a plus but not required
5+ years’ experience as a Site Manager or Construction Manager role in a power generation facility
Minimum 5 years construction management experience in utility-scale electrical construction
Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools
Excellent time and project management skills
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of OSHA requirements. Current OSHA 30 certification
Knowledge of project controls, critical path method scheduling and risk assessment
Ability to solve problems and make quick decisions
Attentive to details
Must have a valid driver license if operating a vehicle on behalf of Owner

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $145k - $160k per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
