Choptank Electric Cooperative, Inc. Systems Administrator in Denton, Maryland

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or related field of study preferred. Four or more years of experience in personal computer networking and individual courses in personal computers and computer science may be substituted for a college degree. Microsoft, CompTIA certifications are preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Must have five (5) years prior experience in the areas of software applications and configuring personal computers, installation and operations service and repair in networking equipment, Windows server administration, service and repair and data communication installation.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Must have working knowledge of personal computers, Windows servers, data communications and telecommunications equipment and applications. Must have a working knowledge of telecommunications systems and interface applications. Must have a working knowledge of software products used by the Cooperative.

ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

Must have the ability to recommend the purchase and installation of all personal computers, servers, and data communications equipment to meet the needs of the Cooperative. Technical expertise in the area of networking preferred. Excellent communication skills are required both verbally and in written communications.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Usual conditions in an air-conditioned office. May require irregular hours to include being on call on a rotational basis for systems that operate 24 hours per day, seven days a week. Some travel to regional offices, substations, co-locations, and seminars as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Required to pass a physical examination and drug test uponemployment. Must be able to lift and carry at least fifty (50) pounds. May be required to work up to eight (8) hours per day at a computer terminal. Must be capable of reading and deciphering small print and numbers. Must be able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with other employees and external contacts.
