Delta County School District Part Time Administrative Assistant in Delta, Colorado

POSITION: Special Services Part Time Administrative Assistant

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *Manage and maintain records of students from the district that are homeschooled. Send out packets to families for the upcoming school year. *Maintain Section 504 files. Communicate with counselors, principals and assistant principals regarding new students to the district. Send lists of 504 students to 504 coordinators at least annually. *Send the October count list to the District Assessment Coordinator for homeschool and 504 students. *Maintain complete and thorough knowledge of all aspects of special education student records, entry and withdrawal codes and processes, testing, healthcare plans, behavioral improvement plans, registration and withdrawal process. Ability to maintain extreme confidentiality and manage multiple issues or concerns at the same time. *Send finalized IEPs home to families. *Manage destruction of records annually. *Answer phones, greet the public, assist Case Managers with IEP compliance issues and training support. *Handle incoming and outgoing mail/packages. *Handle concerns and complaints. Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. *Assist the Director with seasonal activities for the Department. *Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: *Oral and written communication skills *Interpersonal relations skills *Personal computer and keyboarding skills *Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job *Customer service and public relations skills *Ability to manage multiple priorities *Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions

Qualifications: *High school diploma or equivalent plus courses in office, secretarial, word processing and computer skills. *More than one year of clerical and/or secretarial experience. Experience in a school environment preferred.

*Must pass and pay for a Fingerprint/Background Clearance *Must be willing to take the WorkKeys test or have 48 hours of College credits

WAGE: Salary $17.65 per hour depending on experience.

SHIFT: Part Time, 2024-2025 School Year. 199 days per school year - 4 hours per day.

JOB SITE: Delta County School District - Special Services Building.
